The following information has been compiled to provide you with updated information on sales in Santa Fe and its surrounding areas from January 1, 2013, to January 31, 2013. These statistics are for all residential home sales including single-family homes, condos, and townhomes.
There were a total of 103 home sales during this time period ranging in price from $34,000 to $1,750,000. The number of sales this month was 103, down from 149 homes sold in December 2012. Total sales volume for January was $36,750,240 down from $66,504,502 in December 2012.

"All Things Real Estate" Update
Last month we reported that in 2013, we are bringing some new enhancements and changes to the entire “All Things Real Estate” (ATRE) platform of communication tools (the weekly radio show, this monthly newsletter, and our website: www.ATREradio.com). As an update:

Because of the growing popularity of the ATRE radio show, in March we are adding a second hour to the program. The show will air “live” each Sunday (12-2pm—MST) on Santa Fe’s 1260 KTRC-AM and stream to a national audience on SantaFe.com.

In April, we will begin simulcasting the show on a Santa Fe FM station.
For every remote broadcast of the radio program we stage, we are adding guaranteed video or still image streaming of the broadcast venue on SantaFe.com. This will make each remote a “mini-TV show,” offering images and commentary to our local and national audience.

- According to the National Association of Realtors (NAR), the number of existing homes that sold in January edged up, while a seller’s market is developing and home prices–nationally–continue to rise steadily above year-ago levels.
- Exceptionally low interest rates helped ensure a gain in nationwide housing affordability in the final quarter of 2012, according to the National Association of Home Builders Index.
- The U.S. Department of Housing & Urban
Development and the U.S. Census Bureau reports that the issuance of new home construction permits rose in January 1.8 percent to 925,000 units—the quickest pace since mid-2008. This news prompted Rick Judson, chair of the National Association of Home Builders, to state: “Steady demand for new homes is prompting builders to put more construction crews back to work in order to replenish thin supplies of completed product.”
